NUBIA was created for this moment. Not simply to document what is happening now, but to create space for what can happen next.

The future of creativity depends on who has access to it. NUBIA creates opportunities for emerging creatives to learn directly from established voices, develop their craft, expand their networks and see new possibilities for themselves. Through mentorship, masterclasses, fellowships and intergenerational exchange, we are creating pathways between those who have shaped culture and those who will shape what comes next.

NUBIA looks across the global diaspora to create new relationships between people, ideas and places, honoring what we inherit while exploring what we can build together. Because our greatest resource has always been our ability to imagine beyond the world as it is.
FOUNDED BY MARIELLE BOBO
NUBIA was founded by Marielle Bobo, an award-winning creative executive, journalist and cultural strategist whose 25-year career has helped shape how Black creativity is documented, celebrated and experienced. Her career spans leadership as Editor-in-Chief & SVP of EBONY, Fashion Director at ESSENCE, and work with The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute on the landmark Superfine: Tailoring Black Style exhibition. Rooted in her Haitian-American heritage, Bobo created NUBIA as the next chapter of that work, connecting the global diaspora, championing the next generation and building new possibilities for creativity, storytelling, ownership and collective power.
